Ferenc Bencze

Ferenc Bencze (born October 4, 1924 in Oradea , Kingdom of Romania , † September 7, 1990 in Budapest ) was a Hungarian actor .

Life

Bencze began his acting career in 1945 at the Oradea City Theater, where he worked as a dancer and choir member, but also devoted himself to sport. In addition to table tennis and basketball, he played football, and in the 1949/1950 season also as a professional. In 1958 he became a member of the Hungarian Theater in Cluj; seven years later his film career began in Liviu Ciulei's The Forest of the Hanged . He played in his native Romania until 1977, then went to Hungary, where he was a member of the Mafilm actor ensemble. At the Cairo International Film Festival in 1978 he won the Best Actor Award; His stage work at the “Petofi Theater” in Veszprém was also a great success. His filmography includes 85 roles for film and occasionally television.
