Fergus O'Brien
Fergus O'Brien (March 30, 1930 - October 19, 2016 ) was an Irish politician and sat from 1973 to 1992 in the Dáil Éireann , the lower house of the Irish Parliament .
O'Brien was elected to the 20th Dáil Éireann in 1973 for the Fine Gael . He was re-elected five times in total. During his time as a Member of Parliament ( Teachta Dála ), he held various ministerial posts.
O'Brien was also a member of the Dublin City Council and held the office of Lord Mayor of Dublin from June 30, 1980 to June 1981 .
