Ferhat Canal
The Urartian Ferhat Canal in Turkey brings water from the meltwater-fed Balık Gölü at an altitude of 2250 m to the eastern part of the Doğubeyazıt plain . It is cut into the andesite , 2–2.5 m wide and 1–1.5 m deep. The gradient is 10%. Where there is no rock, the canal is lined with walls made of stone gravel and clay mortar. It has a flow rate of 3 to 5 m³ / s and carries water especially in spring.
The canal was discovered in 1996 by Oktay Belli.
