Fernando Casado (singer)

Fernando Arturo Casado Linares (born March 4, 1940 in San José de Ocoa ) is a Dominican singer, actor and entertainer.

Casado took singing lessons from Charles Guild , with whom he also had his first radio appearances. He then worked as a broadcaster for HIN, HIG and HIZ and a newscaster for WBNX and became program coordinator for Voz Dominicana and director of Radio Antillas and Radio Cristal . He had his own show at Voz Dominicana , Canal 7 and Tele Antillas , and he initiated the Fiesta en Tele Antillas program .

At the OTI de la canción festival in Spain he represented the Dominican Republic in 1972 with the song Siempre habrá una sonrisa en la luna and in 1977 with the song Al nacer cada enero . He has performed at Carnegie Hall and has appeared on programs such as Don Francisco (in Santiago de Chile), Trescientos Millones (in Madrid) and the show Siempre en Domingo , filmed by Raúl Velasco and broadcast in Mexico. Casodo became an honorary citizen of Santo Domingo in 1990 and was inducted into the Reserva Musical del País in 2009 .
