Fernando Soleti (* 1891 ; † 1978 ) was an Italian general in the Polizia dell'Africa Italiana (PAI).

Life

General Soleti participated in the rescue operation for the deposed Italian dictator Benito Mussolini on 12 September 1943, the paratroopers - Demonstration Battalion at the Gran Sasso d'Italia in the Abruzzo part on the German side. This military operation became known under the code name " Operation Oak ". It was his job for the Italian Carabinieri who guarded Mussolini to forbid resistance against the German attackers.
