Training battalion
Teaching battalions are military units of a branch of service in which new equipment and procedures are tested before they are made binding on all the other battalions of the branch of service. Training battalions are usually stationed near troop schools and are also used for combat demonstrations in front of foreign guests or teaching demonstrations for their own troops (mainly NCOs and officers ). Since the demonstrations and tests before 1918 were primarily carried out by parts of the guards, the few training troops during this period mainly served to standardize and convey tried and tested procedures throughout the army .
In the following lists of teaching battalions must not be overlooked that there are still several other teachers troops beyond and gave, but as a teaching companies , - regiments , - brigades or - divisions do not appear in this list.
The following training battalions existed until 1945:
- Training infantry battalion, attached to the 1st Foot Guards Regiment in Potsdam from 1895
- Infantry training battalion, from 1920 in Döberitz , later (1939) partially Infantry Regiment United Germany merged
