Fernando Soto Henríquez

Fernando Soto Henríquez (born June 24, 1939 in Tegucigalpa , Honduras , † June 25, 2006 ibid) was a Honduran fighter pilot during the football war between Honduras and El Salvador (1969).

Henríquez emerged victorious from several aerial battles with his Chance Vought F4U and scored three kills. The dogfights in the football war were the last to be fought with fan guns. After the war he became a national hero, this title was officially awarded to him on October 13, 2003 by the Honduran National Congress.
