Ferry Land

As Ferryland a residential building in which it is Front Street in the Scottish town of Inveraray referred. The house is on the Loch Fyne coast not far from the jetty. It is north of the city's court and prison building . Directly to the south is the listed Factory Land residential building . The building used to be an inn called the Ferry Inn . In 1966 Ferry Land was listed in the Scottish Monuments List in the highest category A.

Historic Scotland give the late 18th century when the house was built. Since large parts of the inner area of ​​the planned city Inveraray emerged in the 1770s, it is reasonable to assume that Ferry Land was also built in this decade. Ferry Land is traditionally built and is the end house of the short street. The entrance door is let into the front of the three-story building on the left. There are three lattice windows on this side of the building and six more on the side. The building ends with a slate-covered hip roof . All facades are plastered using the traditional Harling technique. There is a staircase at the back of the building.
