Fixed quadrille

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fest Quadrille is a quadrille by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 44). It was performed for the first time on September 1, 1847 in the Wasserglacis recreation and entertainment resort in Vienna.

Remarks

The work, written in 1847, was written for a concert before the composer's departure on a trip to the Balkans. It didn't seem to leave a lasting impression. Subsequently, the quadrille was rarely played, if at all, and was forgotten. This was also due to the large number of such works by the composer, which displaced each other from the concert programs. The sheet music required for the CD recording mentioned below was reconstructed from yellowed sheet music.

The playing time on the CD listed under itemization is 5 minutes and 3 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
