Festival du Film Policier de Cognac

The Festival du Film Policier de Cognac (French for Film Festival for Police Films of Cognac ) was an annual film festival held in the French city ​​of Cognac between 1982 and 2007. In 1991 the festival was canceled. The festival focused on the thriller, crime and police film genre and had also included the categories of short and television films from 1993. In 2007 the wine syndicate Bureau National Interprofessionel du Cognac withdrew as financier of the festival. That ended the history of the festival. In 2009 the city ​​of Beaune launched the Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune .

In 1988 and 2006 the German-language films The Cat and Silentium won.
