Hohensalzburg Fortress

The fortress museum of the Salzburg Museum (formerly the Salzburg Museum Carolino Augusteum) is located on the high floor of the Hohensalzburg Fortress in Salzburg .

In 2000 a redesign took place, which was awarded the Austrian Museum Prize 2001.

Topics such as the building history of the fortress, living and cooking in the Middle Ages and early modern times as well as weapons and military music are presented. The historical state rooms of the fortress can be reached via the fortress museum.
