history

In 1908, Wilhelm Fette founded the Fette company in Hamburg-Altona and began manufacturing precision tools. In 1948 Fette presented the first tablet press developed in-house. 1982 followed with the P2080, the world's first computer-controlled tablet press. It was now possible to control the press via a uniform terminal and to document process data. In 1991, the company launched the first tablet press with a rapidly changeable rotor. With this innovation they became the world market leader. This market position was further expanded with the opening of the Fette Compacting America subsidiary in the same year. In the following years, further subsidiaries and production facilities were opened in Brazil, China and India, among others.

In 2016 Fette Compacting presented the first capsule filling machine developed in-house, which has twice the output compared to established machines.
