A fire button is usually a push button on a joystick that is used in video games to perform the most important function in that game. In arcade games this is often a shot of your own character. The push button can be either an analog or a digital button. The button is either embedded in the joystick's control stick (e.g. Quickshot II) or in the housing of the joystick itself (e.g. joystick of the Atari 2600 or Competition Pro ).
