Fire brigade commemorative badge (Free State of Anhalt)

The fire brigade commemorative badge was donated in gold and silver by the Anhalt State Ministry on April 10, 1926 .

It could be awarded to people who have been on duty as members of an organized fire brigade in Anhalt for at least 25 years and who have distinguished themselves through the faithful fulfillment of their official duties. In special exceptional cases , the medal could also be awarded without reaching this limit.

The front of the medal shows a horizontal wall with four battlements and an arched gate in the middle, on which the Anhalt bear can be seen striding. It says FREISTAAT above and ANHALT below the wall . On the back with the handles crossed, a pickaxe and a fire engineer's hatchet on which a fire engineer's helmet is placed. Underneath the inscription FOR LOYALTY SERVICES .

The medal is silver for 25 years of service and gold for 50 or 40 years.

The award was worn on a grass-green ribbon with light red central stripes and white side stripes on the left chest.
