Fiat Tagliero is a petrol station in the Eritrean capital Asmara . It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Asmara: a Modernist City of Africa .

The gas station - modeled on the shape of a plane taking off - was built towards the end of Italian colonial rule in Italian Eritrea based on designs by the Italian architect Giuseppe Pettazzi in the style of Futurism and completed in 1938. The building is currently owned by the Royal Dutch Shell Oil Company , is empty and is no longer used as a gas station.

Fiat Tagliero is classified as a cultural monument. On 8 July 2017, the has World Heritage Committee of the UNESCO World Heritage application " Asmara: a Modernist City of Africa " adopted and into the World Heritage List inscribed. Fiat Tagliero is part of this world heritage.
