Figure ceramformer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The figure ceramformer is a state-recognized training occupation in Germany according to the Vocational Training Act .

Duration of training and structure

The training period to become a figure ceramicformer is usually three years. The training takes place at the training company and vocational school .

Work areas

Figure ceramists work in the ceramic industry and in porcelain factories . They form figures and parts of figures, cast figures and put individual parts together. They use a thin clay mixture, the slip . The adhesive surfaces are reworked with wooden trimmings, knives and brushes. If necessary, supports or plates are attached to the model to stabilize the individual parts. It is important that you observe the subsequent processing processes so that the parts are not destroyed during the subsequent molding, firing or joining. After the molding has dried, the work is checked again before it goes into a kiln .

development

A study of the apprenticeship in 2010 showed that it is not possible to integrate the figure ceramist into the ceramist . There was also no need for action to rearrange the training content.

professional school

Figure ceramists visit, for example, the Knobelsdorff School in Berlin or the State Vocational School in Selb .
