The branch church Knappenberg is 1072 meters above sea level east of the Barbarasiedlung in Knappenberg in the municipality of Hüttenberg . The church, consecrated to St. Barbara , was established in 1928 as a branch of the Hüttenberg parish .

description

The church building is a former Bremshaus from the 19th century with side extensions. The freestanding wooden bell tower used to serve as a layer tower. Inside, the church shows itself as a large, flat-roofed room, which is structured by a triumphal arch that is only slightly positioned. The equipment comes partly from the renovation period. A late Baroque crucifixion group is attached to the front wall of the chancel . The painting of St. Nicholas is probably a former altarpiece from the Hüttenberg parish church. The church also has two pictures of St. Barbara, a large one from 1862 and a small one from 1800 with scenes from the mining industry.
