St. Josef in the forest

The Church of St. Joseph in the forest is a Roman Catholic branch church in the municipality Weinitzen belonging cadastral Niederschöckl in Styria . It was built between 1972 and 1974 and is subordinate to the parish of Mariatrost .

Location

The church is located in the district of Niederschöckl, which belongs to Weinitzen, and has the address Kirchplatz 8.

history

In 1930 a school church was built on the site of today's church, which was consecrated on June 21, 1931. In 1972 this church was demolished and replaced by the current church. This was consecrated on May 1, 1974.

description

The church is a modern designed, elongated church building that is covered by a gable roof with a wide dormer window . It also has a covered vestibule. A lecture room is connected to the chancel. The two bells, the Marienglocke and the Josefsglocke, were cast by the Grassmayr bell foundry and consecrated in 1975.
