Live and act

He was born between 1420 and 1430 in Andrea di ser Nuto near Perugia, where he most likely studied at the local university under Baldo Bartolini. In 1435 he received his law degree, in the field of civil and canon law , (Latin designation: in utroque iure .) He married Antonia Crispolti, who came from a well-known family in the city and began to teach canon law at the University of Perugia . Eventually he became editor of the decretals .

From 1460 to 1461 he moved to the University of Pavia as a full professor at the solicitation of Francesco Sforza , who wanted to expand the good reputation of the university . Between 1466 and 1467 he moved to the University of Ferrara . Despite efforts from outside that wanted to direct him back to Pavia, he stayed in Ferrara until 1469–70.

Franchi published his first works in Perugia in 1471, where he died that same year. The fact that his works and writings continued to be published through the end of the century and beyond testifies to his reputation as a lawyer.
