Business newspaper

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A business newspaper is a daily or weekly newspaper that deals intensively with the subject of economics. Business newspapers offer up-to-date and in-depth information for investors and economic players.

The best-known international business newspapers are the US Wall Street Journal and the British Financial Times . For many years after the Second World War, Germany only had two daily business newspapers: the Handelsblatt and the Börsen-Zeitung . From 2000 to 2012 there was also a German edition of the Financial Times under the title Financial Times Deutschland . In Austria, from 1995 to 2016, the WirtschaftsBlatt was the only specialized business newspaper.

In addition to information on economics , economic policy and the business cycle , company news and price information, most business newspapers also offer general political information. News about sports and culture , however, is limited to a few pages. In recent years, some business newspapers have also expanded their offer to include leisure and consumer advice, especially in the Friday editions. The best-known of these rubrics appeared under the title How to spend it (German: ' How to spend it ' - what is meant is the money, about which almost everything revolves in the previous pages) in the Financial Times.
