Finger paint
Finger paints (also known as finger paints ) enable children, for example, to paint pictures with their fingers, hands or feet . The first colors commonly used on babies are homemade flour colors .

They consist of organic dyes or pigments , water, fillers and binders . The colors are made durable by adding preservatives . The addition of bitter substances is intended to largely prevent oral ingestion by children. The substances are largely harmless. However, since the guidelines are not as strict everywhere as in Germany, for example, imported finger paints may also contain harmful heavy metals such as cadmium or chromium . The components of finger paints are regulated by the European standard DIN EN 71-7.

Finger colors allow multi-sensory experiences and have positive effects on children.
