Organic colorants are dyes or pigments that are described in organic chemistry , i.e. contain carbon .

Natural organic dyes such as purple and indigo represent by far the smallest part of all organic colors used today. In the vast majority of cases, these are easily stimulable aromatic basic structures as chromophores , which rarely have a natural analogue , but their value in their chemical stability and high Modifiability exists.
