Finkensteinwald

The Finkensteinwald is a densely wooded elevation in the natural area of Selb-Wunsiedler plateau north of the parish village of Bernstein , part of the town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains . The mountain range consists of several elevations: Mallerberg ( 631  m ), Grießberg ( 675  m ) and Finkenstein ( 650  m ). The Finkenstein is the more worth seeing group of rocks with rock face and rock dump. The municipal boundaries of Wunsiedel, Röslau and Höchstädt meet in the forest area .

The Finkenstein is a protected natural monument. The rock group is made up of slightly crinkled mica schist, which is embedded in the porphyry granite .

Tourist development

The blue and white marked hiking trail of the Fichtelgebirgsverein runs through the Finkensteinwald from Stemmasgrün to Oberwoltersgrün . The porcelain hiking trail runs along the same route.
