The Finkenstein is a densely wooded elevation ( 650 m ) in the Finkensteinwald north of the church village Bernstein , part of the town of Wunsiedel in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains . The blue and white marked hiking trail of the Fichtelgebirgsverein runs through the Finkensteinwald from Stemmasgrün to Oberwoltersgrün . The porcelain hiking trail runs along the same route .

The Finkenstein is a protected natural monument. The rock group is made up of slightly crinkled mica schist, which is embedded in the porphyry granite . The rock group has been designated as a valuable geotope by the Bavarian State Office for the Environment (geotope number: 479R002).
