The Finlayson Lake is a lake in Canada's Yukon Territory .
The 19 km² large lake is located almost 100 km east of Ross River at an altitude of about 900 m . Finlayson Lake has a WNW – ESE length of 14.3 km and a maximum width of 2.2 km. The Finlayson River drains the lake at its eastern end to Frances Lake . The North American continental divide runs not far from the western lake shore.
The Robert Campbell Highway runs along the southern shore of the lake on its route from Watson Lake to Ross River . Finlayson Lake Airport is 3 km south of the lake .
A Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) expedition led by Robert Campbell reached the lake in 1840. Campbell named the lake after Duncan Finlayson, a member of the management of the Hudson's Bay Company.
In the lake u. a. the following fish species: American char , arctic grayling , pike and herring vendace .
