Traditional Icelandic Food - Flatbrauð at the bottom of the right plate

Flatbrauð is a traditional Icelandic bread . It is still offered today or is home-baked. The simple dough for this flatbread is made only with flour , a little salt and water . The finished bread looks like pancakes and is baked at home, for example, directly on an electric hotplate, which does not happen without smoke.

Flatbrauð with hangikjöt is often eaten as a snack.
