The flatex Bank AG is authorized in Germany and Austria bank based in Frankfurt am Main . The object of the company is the operation of all types of banking business and related business. Flatex Bank AG is a wholly owned subsidiary of flatex AG .

history

Flatex Bank AG started its business operations on December 1, 2005 as biw Bank for Investments and Securities AG ( biw AG for short ) with its registered office in Willich .

On January 1, 2012, XCOM Finanz GmbH took over all shares in biw AG and fully integrated the bank into XCOM AG. In March 2015, today's flatex AG acquired the majority stake in XCOM AG, thus also the majority in biw AG.

Based on the resolution of the Annual General Meeting in May 2016, the registered office was relocated from Willich to Frankfurt am Main in June 2016. On June 15, 2016, biw AG was renamed FinTech Group Bank AG .

The name was changed to flatex Bank AG in March 2019 .

Business model

As a full bank, flatex Bank is able to conduct all banking transactions in accordance with the German Banking Act . The business activities of flatex Bank AG are divided into several operational business areas, whereby the flatex online brokerage business in the business-to-consumer (B2C) division is by far the main focus of business activities.

Flatex Bank also operates as a so-called white label provider on the market. Customers of the bank have the opportunity to use the banking technology, the safeguarding of all regulatory matters and the membership in the organizations usual for a German bank, to operate their own business model even without their own banking license.

Deposits are covered by the statutory deposit insurance (up to 100,000 euros per person). This security limit applies to all deposits at flatex Bank together.
