Flauros

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Flauros , also Haures , Hauras or Havres , is a duke in Christian demonology . He is mentioned in the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum of Johann Weyer , an appendix of the De praestigiis daemonum , under the name Flauros as 61st and in the Ars Goetia as 64th ghost in the order of evil spirits, there under the main name Haures. According to Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, he commands 20 and according to Ars Goetia 36 legions of ghosts and appears in the form of a leopard, under the control of an exorcist also in human form. Depending on whether or not he is summoned in the middle of a triangle, he gives true answers about past, present and future things, or lies and deceives the exorcist. He destroys and burns the exorcist's enemies if he so wishes, and protects him from temptation .

There may be a connection between him and Fleurety ; however, Fleurety's horse's foot and profile are characteristic, which does not coincide with the outward description of Flauros.
