Flavio Calzavara

Flavio Calzavara (born February 21, 1900 in Istrana , † March 10, 1981 in Treviso ) was an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Life

Calzavara graduated in law and worked as a theater director in South America for many years after moving to Buenos Aires in 1927 . After returning home in 1933, he worked as assistant director to Alessandro Blasetti . In 1938 he made his debut as a director with the first of several films in which Doris Duranti played the leading role. Between 1944 and 1948 he lived in Spain , where he made two films, and when he returned he turned to light fabrics. Calzavara was always involved in the scripts of his films.

His films are evidence of solid work, are staged with attention to detail and care for the development of the story.
