Florian Freitag (born March 31, 1992 in Dortmund ) is a German handball player .

The 1.89 m tall right-handed player plays for TuS Vinnhorst and is mainly used as a middle back player.

Career

Florian Freitag came to the youth department of GWD Minden from OSC Dortmund in 2009 , became German runner -up in 2010 with the youth team and played eleven international matches for the German national junior team. From 2011 he was in the extended squad for the first team, but initially played almost exclusively for the second team in the 3rd division . It was not until the 2014/15 season that Friday got an increasing number of games in the Bundesliga, when Minden was struggling with enormous injury problems from regular players. Due to his good performance, his contract, which was running out, was extended until 2017. He then moved to HSG Burgwedel . In the summer of 2019 he joined the third division club TuS Vinnhorst .
