Florian Metz (born September 18, 1985 in Zwettl , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian football player.

Career

The native of Lower Austria began his football career with the youth team of SC Zwettl . After very good performance at Zwettl, he switched to the Frank Stronach Academy, where he graduated from high school . In summer 2004 he joined the team of FK Austria Wien through the academy . He made his debut in the Bundesliga at the age of 18 in the derby against Rapid Vienna . His greatest success was winning the championship in 2006 and three ÖFB Cup triumphs with the Viennese. In summer 2009 he moved to LASK Linz and became a permanent part of the team there. A pubic bone inflammation completely incapacitated him for 2011. After only being able to work for 3 weeks without injuries, he was out of action until spring 2013 due to a complicated meniscus injury. In the meantime, LASK did not receive a Bundesliga license and had to relegate directly to the regional league. Florian then moved to Salzburg for FC Liefering , where he made his competitive debut in March 2013. Since July 2013 he has been playing again for his hometown club SC Zwettl.

Internationally, he played 15 times for Austria's U-21 team .
