Floriansdorf Iserlohn
The Floriansdorf Iserlohn Center for Safety Education and Awareness is the first German practice village for fire protection education for children. It is named after St. Florian , the patron saint of the fire brigade.
The practice village, which was opened in Iserlohn in 2000 on an area of around 5,000 m 2 for the professional fire brigade, consists of 16 houses, most of which are child-friendly. Kindergarten groups, school classes and groups of adults (e.g. clubs and companies) work out how to behave correctly in dangerous situations.
The idea
The children learn to be careful with fire so that they do not hurt themselves or others. You learn to recognize dangerous situations. The children in Floriansdorf are not just spectators, they actively practice how to behave in an emergency. This includes u. a. practicing the emergency call and, for school children, handling matches, lighters and candles.
In addition to fire protection education, the following training courses are offered: first aid , house of dangers, fire protection education and children and dogs. This content is not only addressed in training courses, but also at children's birthdays. The goal in Floriansdorf Iserlohn is to provide guidance on independence and responsibility. The educational concepts extend to 10th grade. Also seminars for adults z. B. Use of the fire extinguisher, fire protection for seniors, can be booked in Floriansdorf.
History of origin
In 1993 the Iserlohn fire brigade began fire protection training , and the following year the child fire protection association was founded, which has been renamed the Floriansdorf association since 2016. From 1996 an "Infomobile" was used at kindergartens and schools. A self-made educational film received an international award. In 1997, around 1,000 children were reached at project weeks, family seminars and information events.
In 1998 the foundation stone was laid for the practice village, which opened in 2000. The city of Iserlohn provided the property.
The members of the development association and many voluntary helpers built the buildings, roads and the outdoor area themselves. Sponsors helped with the funding.
Since then, many have been visiting Floriansdorf every year. In 2018 there were 8,573 people.
On October 29, 2005, a second Floriansdorf was inaugurated in Aachen . The Floriansdorf KiEZ Frauensee opened on October 3, 2014 . Another is created z. Currently in Schneeberg.
