Florin Ganea (born April 4, 1976 in Bacau ; † September 9, 2015 ibid) was a Romanian football player .

Athletic career

Ganea came from the youth of FC Selena Bacau , for whom he made his adult debut at the end of the 1994/95 season in the second-rate Divizia B. On his first division debut, however, he had to wait despite promotion to the end of the season, as he was awarded to the second division club Cetatea Târgu Neamț to collect match practice . After a season in which he had scored four goals in 26 games, he returned to the club now operating as FCM Bacau and became a regular here in the following years. Until 2006 he ran for the club, only interrupted by a renewed loan deal in the 2002/03 season for the third division Laminorul Roman .

After relegation to the second division in 2006, Ganea moved within League 1 to Unirea Urziceni . Here, however, he only had the role of a supplementary player and, after he had remained completely without league use in the last season of the 2007/08 season , moved on to Gloria Bistrița in early 2008 . In 2008 he returned to his hometown, where he played for the amateur club FC Știința Bacău .

After the end of his career, Ganea founded a football school under the name "Sporting Bacau". He collapsed while exercising with children and died of a heart attack at the age of 39 .
