Floyd McClung

Floyd McClung junior (born August 3, 1945 ) is an American evangelical missionary , pastor and church planter. In 1994, he and his wife Sally founded the All Nations mission in Cape Town, South Africa .

Life

McClung is a son of Floyd McClung senior. In 1967 he graduated from Southern California College . He went to Kabul in Afghanistan in the early 1970s and took young hippies who were looking for the meaning of life into his Christian community . 1973-1975 he worked with two boats in the center of Amsterdam , which served as a base to evangelize with volunteers among dropouts . 1985–1992 he was the international director of the Youth with a Mission (JmeM). During this time he also wrote the book The Father's Heart , which became widely known and his most famous work. In 1994 he founded the All Nations missionary organization . He later became the senior pastor of the Metro Christian Fellowship , a major church in Kansas City, Missouri , in the American Midwest.

In 2007 McClung spoke in Winterthur, Switzerland, about his insights and perspectives on faith , following Christ and the Christian churches , which are freer, more informal and more dynamic than the structures and the lived reality in the western world today. He also explained his view of Islam , which has become more differentiated through encounters and friendships with Muslims.

Private

McClung has been married to Sally since 1967, they have two grown children and two grandchildren and live in Cape Town, where they run their All Nations mission . Since 2016 he has fallen into a vegetative state.
