Flugboot 121 SP is the title of a 26-part British-Australian television series from 1977 and 1978. The script for the series was written by Michael Jenkins and John McCallum . Directed by Michael Jenkins, Igor Auzins and Peter Maxwell . The series achieved international fame and is one of the classics of the youth series from the 1970s. The series was first broadcast in Germany in 1978.

Mister Bailey is in command of a flying boat with the radio call sign Sierra Papa 121, with which he mainly operates an airline that heads for the most remote corners of the South Pacific . This often leads to Mister Bailey being asked for help by the competent authorities, e.g. B. Criminals are hunted down or people are missing. He sent his son Nick to boarding school in Australia and believes he is in good hands there. But Nick, a boy hungry for adventure in the middle of puberty , is bored to death. He dreams of an exciting life, as his father seems to be leading, and one day he decides to break away from boarding school. The escape succeeds and he reaches his father and the flying boat a short time later. After some back and forth, Mister Bailey lets his son persuade him to take him on one of his tours through the South Seas. From now on, an exciting and adventurous life begins for the boy Nick.
