The airfield Gecitkale is a military airfield in Lefkoniko (Gecitkale) in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the district Gazimağusa around 53 kilometers east of Nicosia (Lefkosa). Geçitkale's only runway, 09/27, is 2,850 m long and 45 m wide.

The airfield, built in 1974, is used by the Turkish Air Force . It is closed for civil air traffic by NOTAM ( Notice (s) to Airmen ). During the renovation-related closure of Ercan Airport from September 2002 to May 2004, it served as the civil airport of Northern Cyprus. Geçitkale's unofficial ICAO code is LCGK.

Further use

In February 2008, the first negotiations to privatize the military airfield took place. The planned investment volume in 2008 was given as around EUR 58 million. No further results are currently known.
