The airfield Oshakati is a disused airfield of the city Oshakati in Namibia . It was built together with the city at the time of the South African occupation of what was then South West Africa as an airfield for a military station.

In 1972 there was a large demonstration at the airfield on the occasion of the visit of the UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim to Namibia. He was on an official visit to the country in March because, following the resolution of the UN Security Council on February 4th in Addis Ababa in favor of self-determination for the Namibians, he was inspecting the situation himself. There were many discussions with individual residents and population groups. Around 1976 he was in a temporary military area of operation of the SADF , which fought the MPLA , SWAPO and Cubans in southern Angola from South West Africa .

The airfield is about two kilometers south of the city and is closed for an indefinite period. The runway is specified to be 1036 meters (3400 feet) long and 30 meters wide.
