The airfield Podor ( French Aérodrome de Podor , IATA: POD, ICAO: GOSP) is the northernmost airport of Senegal . It is located outside the city of Podor in the Saint-Louis region .

The airfield is operated by the Senegalese government for civil aviation . It is located in the north of a bend in the river in Senegal , the middle of which forms the border with the neighboring country of Mauritania , and around three kilometers north of the city center of Podor, the prefecture of the Podor department . The two ends of the runway are only around 100 and 700 meters away from the bank of the river bend, so that the approach has to lead more or less through the airspace of Mauritania.
