The Aircraft Museum Cämmerswalde is a small, private aviation museum in the Ore Mountains of Cämmerswalde . It consists of only three exhibits.

history

In 1973, a decommissioned Ilyushin Il-14 of Interflug from GDR production was set up in a museum in Cämmerswalde as a restaurant and tourist attraction. In addition, a MiG-21PFM from LSK / LV and a Mi-2 helicopter were added after the fall of the Wall .

The restaurant is now no longer in Il-14. The host family bought the plane after the turn of the community. In 2001 the museum was recognized as a state-approved aircraft museum.

The Il-14 is the former DM-SAB of Interflug. The aircraft with the serial number 14803008 was manufactured in Dresden in 1957. It flew with Deutsche Lufthansa of the GDR until 1963, then with Interflug until 1970. In 1970 it was parked at Barth Airport after damage to the nose wheel , in 1973 it was finally dismantled and transported to the Rauschenbach dam , where it was reassembled as a tourist attraction and set up as a restaurant.

In 2001 the ex-NVA-LSK / LV MiG-21PFM with the tactical number 449 was added as a further exhibit. The machine with the serial number 94A6712 initially served with Jagdfliegergeschwader 8 in Marxwalde and shortly before the fall of the Wall went to Drewitz , where it was retired on September 18, 1989. In 1999 it was sold to the Cottbus Airfield Museum and from there it was finally sold on to Cämmerswalde in 2001. In the GDR, the MiG-21PFM was called the MiG-21SPS, as the name PFM had already been assigned to the MiG-21PF (product 76) that had been modernized in the GDR before the introduction of the PFM (product 94).

The Aeroflot Mi-2 (СССР-20402) was manufactured in 1986, used for training in Sheremetyevo until 1991 and then flew at Sverdlovsk Aviation until 1993. It has complemented the exhibition since 2006.
