The Flury Foundation is a welfare foundation in Prättigau in the canton of Graubünden . She runs the Schiers Hospital, a day nursery in Schiers and the old people's homes in Klosters , Schiers and Jenaz , as well as the Spitex Prättigau and the mother and father counseling service in the valley.

Newly added in recent years are old people's apartments in Schiers, Jenaz, Küblis and recently in Pany.

history

The hospital was founded in 1880/1 by pastor Peter Flury († 1881), who had tried in vain for a public hospital for a long time and then had the hospice built on his own initiative when he was old. The hospital went into operation on July 10, 1881 and was continued by Flury's sons, Pastor Paul Flury and doctor Andreas Flury. The hospital was run by the “Prättigauer Krankenverein” founded in the same year, which was renamed the “Prättigauer Spitalverein” in the early 1930s. In 1954, the hospital operations were incorporated into the newly established Flury Foundation.

With the completion of a new hospital in 2015, health care in the Prättigau can continue to be guaranteed. The Flury Foundation is one of the largest employers in the valley. All Prättigau communities from Seewis to Klosters-Serneus belong to its sponsors.
