Fly Pan Am (also Le Fly Pan Am ) are a Canadian band that is mainly assigned to post rock and experimental rock.

history

Fly Pan Am was founded in 1996 by Jonathan Parant ( guitar ), Roger Tellier-Craig (guitar), Felix Morel ( drums ) and Jean-Sebastian Truchy ( bass ) in Montreal , Quebec . In 2002 Eric Gingras (guitar, percussion ) also joined. As with many bands from the Montreal post-rock scene, Fly Pan Am also has connections to Godspeed You! Black Emperor . Guitarist Roger Tellier-Graig was a member of GY! BE until 2003; he resigned to fully devote himself to Fly Pan Am.

Fly Pan Am are mainly influenced by the Franco-Canadian scene in Montreal. Album and song titles are often French and the lyrics are also written in this language.

The band has released four albums and one EP so far, all on Constellation Records . After the tour for the third album Fly Pan Am announced a break. The band members are also involved in other projects.
