The Focke-Achgelis Fa 224 Libelle was a German helicopter made by Focke-Achgelis .

history

When war broke out in 1939, Focke-Achgelis had ten Fa 224 Libelle machines under construction. You should u. a. can be used for helicopter training. After the beginning of the war, the work was stopped and the parts were scrapped in 1940.

construction

It was a project of a sports helicopter derived from Fa 61 , which was no longer carried out due to the outbreak of war.
The structure was basically the same as that of the Fa 61. The drive, however, consisted of an Argus As 10 C with 1 × 240 HP, which was completely disguised in the tip of the fuselage. The cooling air was entered through a round intake duct. The rotor booms consisted of wide profile struts. The Fa 61 had two open seats lying next to each other and a rigid tricycle chassis.
