The Foldafjord or Foldfjord or simply Folda ( Norwegian Foldafjorden or Foldfjorden ) is a fjord in the municipalities of Namsos and Nærøysund ( Trøndelag ) in Norway . Folda is also used to describe a marine area that extends to the south outside the fjord, and the Foldafjord is the fjord portion of this marine area. Innerfolda (or Indre Foldafjorden ) is a long branch of the Foldafjord. Together it is 71 km from the mouth of the Foldafjord to the tip of the Innerfolda.

The fjord has its mouth between the fishing village ( Norwegian Fiskevær ) Abelvær in the north and the island of Jøa in the south and extends inland in a north-easterly direction. On the east side of the Jøa branches Gyltfjord to the south. The hamlet of Salsnes is located northeast of its mouth. A little further to the northeast is the small fjord Fjærangen . The national road 769 crosses the outer parts of this fjord and then continues a short distance to the hamlet of Lund. From there a ferry runs north to Geisnes and Hoflesja on the north side of the fjord.

The Geisneset peninsula divides the fjord in two. On the south side, the fjord continues east to Oppløyfjord . Immediately after the fjord has passed the north side of Geisneset, it divides again into two parts. The Kvisten fjord continues to the east, while the Korsnesstraumen runs north to Kolvereidvågen and Kolvereid. This is also where the inner folder begins and extends a further 42 km inland.
