The Follmann Group is a medium-sized family company with its headquarters in the East Westphalian city of Minden in North Rhine-Westphalia . It consists of the parent company Follmann Chemie and the subsidiaries Follmann and Triflex. The international family company in the chemical industry achieved sales of EUR 200 million in 2019 and employs over 800 people. The partner is Henrik Follmann.
history
Founded in 1977 by Heinrich and Rainer Follmann, Follmann initially specialized in construction chemical products and expanded its activities in 1980 to include printing and coating materials for decorative and industrial end products.
Triflex was founded in 1984 to relocate construction chemical activities and further specialize in printing and coating products.
In 1998, Follmann Management Holding (FMH) was founded and, as the parent company, took on central tasks. The parent company was then replaced by Follmann Chemie. The parent company sees itself as the central operating and service company of the group of companies and is responsible for the process of providing services from purchasing the raw materials to delivery.
Follmann has specialized in chemicals for the decorative and functional design of surfaces and connections. The range includes printing inks for packaging and table decoration products, printing inks and coatings for wallpapers and the woodworking industry, coatings for technical textiles and digital printing, wood adhesives and adhesives for industrial use as well as microencapsulation . Triflex is a supplier of sealing and marking systems based on liquid plastics.

Environmental management
In the 1980s, Rainer Follmann introduced integrated environmental management. In 1986 he was a founding member of the Förderkreis Umwelt future eV , five years later he initiated the environmental initiative of the economy in the Minden-Lübbecke district . Both activities were awarded the Federal Environment Prize. The Follmann Group is a founding member of the "Wissensfabrik - Companies for Germany eV" initiative.
Furthermore, the company works according to certified quality, environmental and energy standards (DIN EN ISO 9001, DIN EN ISO 14001, DIN EN ISO 50001).
