The Fondeadero Montevideo ( Spanish ) is a bay on the south coast of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located on the south bank of the Ezcurra Fjord .
The Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) led by polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot used it as an anchorage. It is named after the Uruguayan capital Montevideo , whose inhabitants helped the expedition.
