Font de Canaletes
The Font de Canaletes (cast .: Fuente de Canaletas; eng .: Fountain of Canaletas) is a cast iron fountain in the Spanish city of Barcelona . The building, inaugurated in 1860, is located north of Las Ramblas on Plaça de Catalunya . It is one of the rather unknown landmarks of the city. The fountain is named after the northern part of the city wall. Water pipes, the so-called Canaletes , used to run there.
Trivia
The legend has it that anyone who drinks from it, return again to Barcelona.
Football fans have been celebrating the victories of the FC Barcelona football club here since 1930 . At that time, the editorial staff of the sports newspaper Diario deportivo La Rambla was at this point . Here the soccer results were announced and celebrated accordingly.
