Fonuafoʻou (also: Fonuafuu , Fonuafoō , Fonuafoou ) is a small uninhabited island in the Tongan archipelago of Vavaʻu .

geography

Fonuafuu is a motu in the easternmost reef rim of Vavaʻu. It belongs in the series with Lolo , Fonuaunga and Luatafito and is relatively isolated. To the west is the next island Fuaʻamotu .

climate

The climate is tropical hot, but is tempered by constantly blowing winds. Like the other islands of the Vavaʻu group, Fonuafuu is occasionally hit by cyclones .
