Music video

The music video for the song was filmed in Hungary . Tim Bergling himself directed the music video together with the director Levan Tsikurishvili. He also produced the documentary " True Stories " about Avicii's career.

The music video for "For a Better Day" is divided into three sequences in which the topic of child sex slavery is dealt with. The first sequence shows a car driving into a remote field where a group of men are standing around a truck and waiting. A man gets out of the car, opens the truck and presents something to the waiting group. The group seems to be interested in what is presented. It seems like this is about buying something unknown.

A second sequence is in black and white. There you can see a boy and a girl running through a cornfield. Someone is chasing them. You come out of the cornfield to a cliff. Then they look back and jump off the cliff into the water below.

The third sequence shows a masked couple in a car. They attack one of the men in the group that was seen in the first sequence. First, they brand it with a symbol that cannot be recognized. Then they kill him. An Asian man is shown being forced to commit suicide by being shot. After each of these scenes, the couple crosses photos of the men they have hung on a wall with a red pen. As in a checklist, each person is crossed out in the photo wall.

The third sequence ends with the masked couple walking through a crowd of protesters demanding freedom. The last man in the group previously seen seems to be a man in high social position, perhaps even the president of the country. They brand him too. After that, the couple take him to a roof with a noose around his neck. Just before they push him over the edge of the roof to hang him, they make him realize that they were the two children who were chased through the cornfield.

Finally the first sequence is repeated. This time no music is played and instead you can hear the conversations of the people involved. You can see two children being bought out of the truck. In the truck itself you can see a group of barely dressed children. They are put in the trunk of the man who bought them. The same man later becomes the man of high social standing who is hanged.

In the last scene you can see a wristwatch of one of the men - it resembles that of the unknown buyer of the children - and the camera pans to the back of the man who is branded with the word “Pedofilia” (pedophilia).
