Roller coaster Formula Rossa

Formula Rossa at Ferrari World amusement park in Abu Dhabi , UAE , is a steel roller coaster manufactured by Intamin , which opened in November 2010. It is the fastest roller coaster in the world with a top speed of 240 km / h.

The 2070 m long and 52 m high route is based on the layout of the Desert Race and Rita roller coasters , but has larger curve radii due to the higher speed. The trains are accelerated from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 240 km / h in 4.9 seconds with a 24,000 kW (32,600 hp) hydraulic acceleration system. Due to the high speed and sand , all passengers must wear protective goggles while driving.

Trains

Formula Rossa has four trains in racing car design, each with four cars. Four people (two rows) can be seated in each car. Lap bars are used as a restraint system. The trains were presented together with the Ferrari Formula 1 team at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Barcelona in May 2010 .
