Research company for German constitutional law

Research Society for German Constitutional Law (short: FdV Japanese ド イ ツ 憲法 判例 研究 会 , Doitsu Kempō Hanrei Kenkyūkai ) is an association of professors of public law who research German constitutional law , founded by Hisao Kuriki in April 1992 . It currently has more than 100 members and is the most important research group on German constitutional law in Japan.

Meetings

The members meet once a month in Tokyo. The respective reporter chooses and translates a recent decision of the Federal Constitutional Court and explains it. After this presentation, the members discuss the topic, often in comparison with Japanese decisions or the Japanese state of discussion.

Sometimes guests from Germany are invited to the lecture. Conferences also took place in Germany (2000 and 2005 in Freiburg, 2004 in Göttingen and Osnabrück).

The current chairperson (since 2013) is Hidemi Suzuki, professor at Osaka University .
